Carport Installation Information
What to Expect Before & During Your Carport Installation
You’ve placed your order and submitted the deposit—now it’s almost time for your new carport to be installed! But before our crew arrives, there are a few key steps to complete on your end to ensure a smooth installation.
Pre-Installation Checklist
1. Get the Proper Permits
Check with your local municipality or county office to find out what building permits are required in your area. Make sure all paperwork and approvals are in place before installation day to avoid any delays or compliance issues.
2. Prepare the Installation Site
Clear out the area where your structure will go. Remove trees, brush, debris, or any obstructions that could interfere with the build. The ground should be leveled and ready for construction.
3. Choose & Prep Your Foundation
Whether you go with concrete, gravel, or asphalt, your foundation must be prepped before we arrive. If you opt for a concrete pad, consider hiring a professional to ensure it’s properly poured and cured.
4. Locate or Plan for Utilities
If your carport will have lighting, outlets, or any interior use beyond storage, now’s the time to identify the locations of existing utility lines (water, gas, electric). Knowing where utilities are can help prevent issues during future upgrades.
What Happens on Installation Day
Once your site is ready, our experienced installation team will handle the full build process, step-by-step:
Anchoring & Base Rails
We start by anchoring the structure securely to the ground. Then, we install the base rails, which act as the foundation frame for your building.
Main Frame Construction
The primary structure, including vertical posts, support beams, and trusses, is installed next. This creates the core framework of your carport.
Structural Reinforcements
To enhance stability, we add purlins, braces, and secondary trusses, giving the building strength and durability.
Roofing Panels
Your chosen roof style is then installed using metal panels, secured to the frame. Panel layout depends on the roof type you selected.
Doors, Windows & Frame-Outs
If your structure includes enclosures, we’ll install any doors or windows you’ve selected, along with any custom frame-outs for future upgrades.
Trim & Final Touches
Lastly, we add trim and finishing details to cover exposed edges, improve weather resistance, and give your carport a clean, polished look.
